Mad Honey also known as Himalayan Cliff Honey, is a honey produced by the Himalayan Giant Honeybee. These bees harvest the nectar of Rhododendron flowers which contain a substance called grayanotoxins. Grayanotoxin is responsible for the effects of mad honey.

Our products come directly from Nepal. We import directly from Gurung honey harvesters in the Annapurna district of central Nepal.

When used properly mad honey can boost mood, reduce tension, enhance cognitive function and work as an aphrodisiac. When used improperly it can cause intoxicating and hallucinogenic effects, drops in blood pressure, vomiting, nausea, blurred vision, confusion and loss of coordination or consciousness. It is important to follow the dosage, usage and safety information on the packaging.

Mad honey can cause side effects like nausea, dizziness, sweating and blurred vision. More serious side effects such as low blood pressure, slowed heart rate, hallucinations, loss of coordination, irregular heartbeat and loss of consciousness can also occur especially with dosages above the recommended range and when mixing mad honey with certain medications or substances.

The intoxicating and hallucinogenic effects will only become apparent when the product is used in high dosages. The therapeutic and beneficial dosage range of mad honey will not get you high. However, even with therapeutic dosage ranges it is recommended not to drive or operate heavy machinery.

Women who are breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant should not use mad honey product. Those on medications should avoid using mad honey without first discussing with their doctor. Those with heart conditions and those with blood pressure issues should avoid using mad honey.

Mad honey is legal in all 50 US states. Internationally, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, India, South Korea, and Spain have banned the use of mad honey and/or grayanotoxin-containing products.

No, we do not add anything into our honey, such as preservatives or sweeteners.

Our mad honey has a 2-year shelf life and expiry. Expiry dates are listed on the packaging. Please follow the recommended storage instructions on the packaging as improper storage may reduce the shelf life.

We include a printout of the lab testing information in each order. Please contact customer support if you have any questions or comments about lab testing and they will be happy to assist you.

Yes, all orders come with free USPS Priority shipping. Customers can upgrade to USPS Express for an extra charge

We ship from Monday to Saturday, excluding all Federal Holidays. All orders received before daily cut off get shipping on the same day

Monday to Friday our shipping cut-off times are 1:00 pm Pacific Standard Time. Any orders received before this time will ship on the same day. On Saturdays our same day shipping cut-off time is before 11:00 am Pacific Standard Time. Please be advised that same-day shipping will not be applied to US Federal Holidays.

Currently we offer USPS Priority and USPS Express. USPS Priority is free on all orders, but you can upgrade to USPS Express for an extra charge

USPS Priority shipping times range from 2-3 days. Please allow a one-day wash out time. So, if you order on a Monday before same-day shipping cut-off, you can expect your order at the latest by Friday. Please be advised that although USPS is reliable, we cannot guarantee shipping times on Priority shipments. With USPS Express the guaranteed shipping time is 1-2 business days. If shipping is not received within this timeframe, USPS will refund us and we will pass this refund back to you, the customer.

Yes, all orders are shipped discreetly. The return address listed on the package will be a P.O. box with name: Sherpa H. We do not list mad honey or the contents of your parcel anywhere on the outside of the package.

We can change a shipping address providing the order has not shipped yet. Please contact customer support immediately if you wish to change your shipping address. Unfortunately, if the order has already shipped, we cannot modify the address.

Please wait for 5 business days after receiving your tracking number before contacting customer service. We will investigate the issue with USPS and if the package has not arrived, we will reship free of charge. Lost and stolen packages are uncommon but do happen. In this case, we will cover this cost for you and reship your order.

Please reach out to our customer support team to open a claim. We will investigate the damaged contents and replace and reship them as necessary. Customer support may ask for pictures of the damaged contents during their investigation and take the appropriate actions to remedy the situation.

When your order ships, you will receive an email from support@sherpahoney.com with your tracking information. Please ensure to check your spam folder and add our support email to your contact list to ensure it lands in your inbox correctly. Your tracking information will be in the “My Account” section of our website, along with your appropriate login credentials if you have created an account with us. Alternatively, you can email or call customer support, and we can supply you with your tracking information if you cannot locate it.

Please allow 48 hours after receiving your tracking number before contacting customer support. Sometimes USPS misses a scan, and this causes the tracking not to update correctly. We ask all customers to wait 48 hours as this will give sufficient time to see if it is a USPS tracking error before investigating and/or reshipping

All domestic packages ship without signature by default. If you require a signature for delivery, please reach out to customer support with your order number directly after placing an order. We charge an additional fee for the signature required for delivery.

Yes, we can ship internationally; however, we cannot ship to Australia, Brazil, Mexico, India, South Korea, or Spain. International customers must pay the applicable shipping and customs fees, and delivery times cannot be guaranteed, but they generally range from 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the country and/or customs delays.

We do not currently offer gift wrapping.

If you are not satisfied with your order within 30 days, you can return the unused portion for a full refund. We require a minimum of 80% of the product to be returned in its original packaging. Once we receive this product, it will be verified and then discarded. The 30-day return period starts from the date you receive the package according to the tracking number. You can view our policy here.  

If you fall within the 30-day satisfaction guarantee period, please reach out to customer support and supply your order number and products you wish to return. Customer support will issue you a USPS shipping label to send the product(s) back free of charge. When we receive the product(s), we will verify it and issue a refund.

If your returned product gets lost in transit, please contact customer support. We will investigate the issue and then issue the refund appropriately.

Returned products are shipped back via USPS Priority. If you ship back the products, we should receive the products back in our warehouse within 72 hours. Once we confirm the contents, we issue the refund within 24 business hours and will inform you via email once the process has been completed.

Once the return has been initiated, we will send an email confirming that this process has been completed.

If you are outside the 30-day return period, we cannot issue a refund. If you have any questions, please contact customer support

We frequently send out offers and promo codes on various holidays and during special events. To be informed about these promotions, please sign up for our mailing list. You can opt out of the mailing list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button in the footer of the email.

Please reach out to customer support. Although we can’t always backdate a discount or expired offer, we do occasionally help backdate it for loyal customers by issuing a store credit for the difference they would have saved when they missed a promotional campaign. In the future, please be advised that we often launch promotional campaigns around Federal Holidays and certain non-federal holidays like Valentine's Day, Mother’s Day, Father's Day, etc.

Yes, you can request a store credit rather than a refund by contacting customer support.

It can take 5-7 business days for a refund to show on your statement after we issue the refund. Usually, the funds will be available right away, but the time to reflect on your statement can take 5-7 business days. For international orders, timelines could extend past the 7-day window up to about 10 days.

If you refund has not posted after 7 business days, please contact customer support and we will investigate the issue.
